Jokowi Son Kaesang Reported to Police over Hate Speech, Blasphemy

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police will examine a report lodged over blasphemy and hate speech allegedly implicating Kaesang Pangarep, the son of President Jokowi. Police chief General Tito Karnavian said that the police will first examine the reporting party.
Tito said that he could yet confirm whether the report was filed against Jokowi’s son, Kaesang.
Reports say that a man called Kaesang Pangarep was reported to Bekasi Police by a man named Muhammad Hidayat on July 2. The police report says that Kaesang had uploaded a video that allegedly contains blasphemy and hate speech.

Bekasi Metro Police chief Sr. Comr. Hero Hendriatno has confirmed the report. “A report has been filed, yes. We are currently examining whether it can be categorized as hate speech,” Hero said today.
Kaesang does have a YouTube channel. He usually uploads his video to his account. The video being reported was allegedly uploaded by Kaesang Pangarep on May 27 titled #BapakMintaProyek.
Presidential spokesman Johan Budi could yet issue any statement on the issue. He said that he still awaits the reaction of Kaesang Pangarep or Jokowi who is currently on a working visit to Turkey and Germany.
