TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) leader, Rizieq Syihab, met with Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN), Amien Rais, in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, June 14. Amien Rais originally travelled there for his Umrah pilgrimage.
Rizieq Syihab, with his Ihram clothing, could be seen tightly shaking hands with Amien Rais in a hotel room.

Images circulating the internet showed both of them accompanied by two unknown people wearing all white clothes.
According to Rizieq Syihab’s attorney, Sugito Atmo Pawiro, his client gets visited by public figures from Indonesia and other countries too. “Rizieq everyday doesn’t have time to rest, because of a number of invitations and visitations from people,” Sugito said on Thursday, June 15.

Rizieq Syihab is currently a suspect and fugitive of a case related to pornography in Indonesia. Sugito claims that his client’s reluctance to travel back to Indonesia because of his dissertation and religious activities.
The Indonesian National Police failed to issue a red notice for the FPI leader Rizieq Syihab, considering that the case doesn’t fulfill the criteria of a red notice.
