Firza Husein Grilled for 11 Hours over Pornography Case

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Firza Husein was grilled for 11 hours yesterday at Jakarta Metro Police station as a witness over a pornography case against suspect Rizieq Syihab, the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) leader.

Firza has denied involvement in the explicit WhatsApp exchange between her and Rizieq Syihab. “It’s all been denied,” Firza said while leaving the interrogation room.

Last night saw Firza Husein’s first questioning in the pornography case implicating suspect Rizieq Syihab. She had been summoned earlier but skipped questioning for health reasons. Police have also served summons to Rizieq. The latter is currently in Saudi Arabia.

Jakarta Metro Police has decided not to detain Firza Husein. Aside from being dragged into the pornography case, Firza has also been named a suspect in alleged treason, over which she was arrested before the anti-Ahok rally on 2 December.
