TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government is going to build rail track from Solo Balapan Station to Adi Sumarmo Airport in Solo, Central Java.

The track is prepared to integrate Adi Sumarmo Airport and Adi Sutjipto Airport in Yogyakarta.

The train will use electric rails (KRL).

"The construction will begin in 2017,” Tranportation Ministry’s Head of Railroad Network Structuring and Development Subdirectorate Titiek Masdini Agustriana in Sebelas Maret University in Solo on Saturday (29/10).

Such development results in a change from electric diesel commuter trains from Yogyakarta to Solo, such as KA Prambanan Express, into electric trains.

The subdirectorate is currently arranging plans to facilitate electrification project on the rail line.

"Including the use of lecetricity source," she added.

Titiek further said that they are still looking for alternative energy provider other than state-owned electricity company PLN.
