TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is slated to inaugurate an airport in an outer island of Miangas Islands during his visit to North Sulawesi Province. The airport, which cost Rp275 billion, will be the first domestic airport to be inaugurated by President Jokowi.
The airport has a 356 square meter terminal warehouse, with 1,400-meter long and 30-meter wide runway. It will also have a 100-meter long and 18-meter wide taxiway.
The apron is 130-meter long and 65-meter wide with PCN 21. The airport will be used by turboprop aircrafts and ATR 42 as well as ATR 72 aircarfts.
According to Jemmy Kumendon, North Sulawesi Public Relations head, aside from inaugurating the airport, Jokowi will also inspect several projects on Miangas Islands.
Jemmy said after inaugurating the airport on Miangas Islands, President Jokowi is will immediately return to Manado and head to Jakarta. “According to schedule, Mr. President will only be in North Sulawesi for two days,” Jemmy said.
