President Proposes Budi Gunawan to be the BIN Chief

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State Secretary Pratikno delivered a letter from President Joko Widodo to the House of Representatives, on the president`s proposal to replace Chief of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN).

"(Jokowi) has proposed new head of BIN - Budi Gunawan," he said. Pratikno said that Budi Gunawan's appointment is merely for the sake of regeneration, in which he is going to replace Sutiyoso.

Speaker of the House, Ade Komarudin, said that he will hold a meeting to discuss about the replacement. "We will meet with the faction on Monday," he said.

Ade said that the House will run a fit and proper test to Budi.
