TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two carriages of Kertajaya train, inbound from Tanjung Priok-Pasar Turi, Surabaya, were caught on fire in Tanjung Priok station, North Jakarta. No casualties were reported, as the carriages were reserve carriages.
"It caught fire at 13.00. We managed to put off the fire in 35 minutes," said spokesman of the PT KAI 1, Bambang Setiyo Prayitno on Thursday, August 25, 2016.
Bambang said that the fire was easily put off, thanks to the quick reaction of the firefighter squad.
An investigation is underway to figure out the source of the fire. Bambang said that the fire has caused no disturbance to the train schedule.
