TEMPO.CO, Rio de Janeiro - Indonesian mixed doubles pairing Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir secured an easy win over Australian pair Robin Middleton/Leanne Choo, in group C of Olympics Badminton events in Rio 2016, Thursday, August 11, 2016. Tontowi/Liliyana scored a 21-7, 21-8 victory in 25 minutes.

“Today’s performance was good. We could felt the wind blowing across the court. We have to reduce unforced errors, to better read wind direction. Tomorrow, we have to prepare ourselves to be more focused and avoid lapses because we will face even stronger opponents,” Lilyana told Badmintonindonesia.org

In the first game, Tontowi/Liliyana made a flying start with 6-2 lead. Middleton/Choo was overwhelmed by Tontowi/Liliyana’s attack. Tontowi/Liliyana continue their lead to 11-3 before closing the first game 21-7.

In the second game, Tontowi/Liliyana strolled to 11-2 lead. Middleton/Choo failed to either improve their performances or escape pressure from Tontowi/Liliyana. It ended 21-8 for Tontowi/Liliyana.
