TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as 72 out of 442 inmates in Sukamiskin Penitentiary, Bandung, have been granted remission during Eid al-fitr. The remission period varies from 15 days to two months.
"Another 110 inmates have also been nominated to receive remission," said Surung Pasaribu, Sukamiskin Penitentiary warden on Wednesday, July 6, 2016.
Surung said that remissions of the 72 inmates have been approved by the Justice and Human Rights Ministry.
Most of the inmates are corruption convicts. Two of the penitentiary's top inmates, Andi Mallarangeng and Sutan Bhatoegana, are not granted remission because they have not met administrative requirements.
