TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Muhammad Yusuf, Chief of the Indonesian Financial Transaction Repots and Analysis Center (PPATK) said t it is not easy to find evidence related to the Panama Papers. Yusuf said that currently, PPATK’'s investigation on the available data could only raise suspicions. "We have comparable data, there’s the Panama Papers, offshore leak papers, and there’s the PPATK papers," Yusuf said on Monday, April 25, 2016.
Based on PPATK's data, several names have been investigated together with the Directorate General of Tax. However, Yusuf warned that not all of the names can be directly linked to crimes.
Yusuf did not deny that there are names of several government officials listed in PPATK’s data. Yusuf however, refused to mention any names. "There are names [of government officials] in Panama Papers. But he/she is not necessarily guilty," Yusuf said.
Meanwhile, Director General of Tax Ken Dwijugiasteadi refused to provide comments on the links between the Panama Papers and Cooedinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. "I don't know. That is what the media reported. I will investigate," Ken said.
