TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Jakarta Administration to start ERP testing to get traffic density pattern daily and at rush hours. Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama said the low-rate standard for Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) to be valid in Jakarta will be set to Rp30,000.
“The rate will fluctuate,” Ahok said in Jakarta on Monday, April 4, 2016.
If many vehicles still pass the road with a Rp30,000 tariff, the rate will be increased to Rp50,000.
But the government will lower the rate if the roads get quieter since many vehicles avoid ERP.
Ahok said the ERP could possibly be free once in a while if toll roads or other roads become congested and traffic should be diverted to ERP areas.
“We will control vehicle volume,” Ahok said.
The Governor said the Rp200,000 fee charged for the ERP device will be set as a deposit. If a driver changes his vehicle and return the device, the money will also be fully returned, said Ahok.
