TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Jakarta Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahja Purnama said that the Provincial Government will complete the construction of 63 Children-Friendly Integrated Public Spaces (RPTRA) funded by private grants. Meanwhile, the regional government has planned to build 150 RPTRA from its own fund.
“It is expected to reach 213 RPTRA by year-end,” Basuki said during inauguration of children-friendly integrated public spaces in Menteng Atas, Tuesday, March 8, 2016.
In the following years, Ahok hoped that children-friendly integrated public spaces will continue to be built. The Governor has called for every urban villages in Jakarta to provide public spaces. Officials of urban village are expected to take care of their residents from fetus to old age.
RPTRA must also be used to instill religious, cultural and educational values.
In addition, children-friendly integrated public space is expected to become a place where the Jakarta residents can interact to each other. “I don’t want Jakarta to become big cities like Singapore, who has low level of happiness,” Ahok said.
