Police Arrest 40 Alleged Terrorist Suspects After Thamrin Terror

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-National Police headquarter have arrested at least 40 alleged terrorist suspects following the terror attack at Thamrin, Jakarta, last January.

"We've got 40 people up to today," said the head of Public Information, Brig. Gen. Agus Rianto Monday, February 22, 2016.

Not all of them were involved at Thamrin terror but Agus said the 40 alleged suspects were involved in several terror attacks including in Thamrin.

Currently, the police are amid validating the number of terrorist involved in Thamrin terror. "We're still clarifying [the data] and we will still need to conduct further identifcation on the total [suspects]" he said.

According to Agus, the number may increase since the special Detachment 88 are still conducting operation on the searching and seizuring. The officer are also amid interrogating the arrested suspects.

At the latest operation, police arrested a Tangerang resident, DAP, 39 years old.

The suspect DAP is allegedly involved at Thamrin terror together with the previous five arrested in Malang.

Earlier, the police have arrested dozens of people allegedly involved at Thamrin terror in many regions in Indonesia; East Kalimantan, West Java, Central Java, East Java, and mostly in Bekasi. They expectedly are from various groups, namely Santoso or Abu Wardah, Bahrun Naim, Abu Jandal, and Aman Abdurrahman alias Oman.
