TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Archbishop of Jakarta Mgr. Ignatius Suharyo hoped that President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo could visit Vatican City, the center of the Catholic Church.
"In representation of the Catholic Church, we hoped that when the President visited Europe, he will stop by Vatican City, center of the Catholic Church," said Ignatius on Tuesday, December 22, 2015.
Ignatius said the Jokowi's visit to the Vatican is important because Indonesia needs to introduce tolerance and harmony to the world.
Ignatius believed that President Jokowi's visit to the Vatican will generate positive impact to Indonesia. According to Ignatius, Indonesia is increasingly recognized as the world’s largest Muslim-majority country that employs high religious tolerance.
