TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Suryo Bambang Sulistio, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (Kadin) asked the government to involve Kadin in formulating policy packages in the future. Bambang said that the government seems to consider Kadin as an object instead of a regulatory partner.

"We want to ensure that the policy is effective and achieves its target. Kadin is capable [in helping the government]," Suryo said on Monday, October 19, 2015, adding that there are 31 Kadin representatives in 31 provinces. Suryo added that Kadin is the most prominent business forum in Indonesia.

Kadin held a National Working Meeting in Trade and International Relations on Monday, October 19, 2015. The result of the meeting would be submitted as one of the organization's national discussion materials, which will be held next month.

Suryo further said that there were errors during the the implementation of the government's policy. "[Errors] occurred because Kadin was not involved," Suryo said.

According to Kadin's Trade and International Relations Deputy Chairman Chris Kanter, Kadin has experience in handling the economic crisis back in 1998, 2008, 2013 and the present crises.
