TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ Tjahaja Purnama said the President Cup competition was a great success. “The president is delighted,” said Ahok.
According to Ahok, it could be seen from fair match between the participating teams. “No players were seen protesting or attacking the referee during the game,” he said on Monday, October 19.
Ahok also praised the prize given to winner which is Rp4.2 billions. “This can improve professionalism,” he said.
Jakarta was on alert for the 2015 President Cup in Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. Four layers of security were placed to anticipate clashes between supporters of the teams, especially between Jakmania, supporters of Persija and Bobotoh, supporters of Persib. Around 9,000 personnel from the police and TNI stood guard in Gelora Bung Karno.
Persib Bandung won the match last night. Ahmad Julianto and Makan Konate made two goals for the team in the first round.
