TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After a success in Malaysia in August, the Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) brings K-Food Fair to Jakarta this weekend, October 17 to 18. The fair kicked start by a demo of making 42-meter kimbap at Kota Kasablanka mall.
In a press release received by Tempo on Friday, Jae Su Kim, the President aT (Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation) said that kimbap is selected to show that Korean food has many variations that can be adjusted to its region of origin and climate. The Koreans culinary staple is made of dried seaweed with variety of fillings.
Visitors can also watch kimbap cooking class, try out variety of Korean foods, and visit special booth for halal Korean foods.
In addition to the giant kimbap cooking show, the opening day on Friday, October 16 was also wrapped up with Business-to-business (B2B) Export Consultation Meeting, K-Food Halal Seminar, and martial arts show.
