Village Funds Can Recover Economy in Villages, Minister Says

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Marwan Jafar said that the distribution of village funds and infrastructure development in the villages could recover economy in the villages.

Marwan also said that village funds that had been received could be used to build infrastructure such as village roads, irrigation system, capital for farmers, and sanitation system.

Those things, he said, could contribute to recovering economy in the villages.

"In addition to provide job opportunities for many people in the villages, those infrastructure projects can also create other economic activities, be it those related to the projects or not,” Marwan said in his press statement.

Marwan further said that village funds could in fact recover national economy because national economy begins from economy in the villages.
