TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Adnan Buyung Nasution (died at 81) wrote down his last words on providing legal assistance for the poor a piece of paper. Adnan's final message was "Jagalah LBH/YLBI teruskan pemikiran dan perjuangan bagi si miskin tertindas." (Maintain the LBH/YLBI carry on thoughts and struggle for the oppressed poor).
Todung Mulya Lubis, one of Indonesia's renowned lawyer, tells how Adnan wrote down the message using a red marker. Speaking to Tempo, Todung said that the message was written on Sunday, September 20, 2015, whiel he was visiting Adnan at the Pondok Indah Hospital.
However, Todung claimed that he was feeling uneasy after leaving the hospital and decided to return to look after Adnan. "I return [to the hospital] on Sunday night," Todung said on Wednesday, September 23, 2015.
Todung said that he was touched when Adnan held his hand and cry. "I cried seeing him geeting worse," Todung said. It was then when Adnan wrote his last message.
