TEMPO.CO, JakartaPresident Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will celebrate Eid al-Adha, or the Day of Sacrifice, in the South Kalimantan provincial capital of Banjarmasin on Thursday.

"The president will celebrate the Day of Sacrifice in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan. He will leave for Banjarmasin tomorrow," Minister/State Secretary Pratikno stated in the premises of the Presidential Palace on Tuesday.

From Banjarmasin, President Jokowi will head to North Sumatra to observe the latest condition of Mount Sinabung, which last erupted on September 5, 2015.

"The president is looking forward to accelerating the settlement of problems related to the eruption of Mount Sinabung, which is expected to show continued volcanic activity, and the problems cannot be settled temporarily," he stated.

For its part, the government needs to resettle residents, who have fallen victim to the eruption of Mount Sinabung, to other areas and create more jobs for them.

According to Deputy Governor of North Sumatra Tengku Erry Nuradi, every refugee family displaced due to Mount Sinabungs eruption will receive a house and half a hectare of farming land from the government.

The government has allocated 185 hectares, and each family will receive half a hectare, he noted after attending a limited cabinet meeting led by President Jokowi.

The latest major eruption on September 5, 2015, was the continuation of the first one that occurred in 2010, he pointed out.

Inhabitants of 10 villages located within a 3 to 5 kilometer radius from the mountains top will be moved to new resettlement areas.

As part of the first stage of the relocation efforts, 370 families from three villages will receive new houses and farming land.
