Govt Slashes Flat Budget to 15,000 units in 2016

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Public Works and Housing Ministry said that flat development budget for the low-income society will be slashed next year.
Director General of House Procurement the Ministry of Public Works and Housing Syarif Burhanuddin said next year’s available budget for flat development is only enough for 15,000 units.
20,000 flats have been constructed this year, while only 15,000 flats will be built next year, said Syarif.
Syarif mentioned the total budget for housing procurement for the low-income society is just Rp 7.69 trillion or lower than this year’s budget of Rp8.1 trillion.
From the total 15,000 flats to be constructed in 2016, as much as 6,300 units will be developed in Jakarta which will be split in two locations; 4,300 units in Pasar Rumput, and the rest will be developed in Pasar Minggu.
Each flat will consist of two towers having a height of 25 to 27 stories tall.
