TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice Preisdent Jusuf Kalla invited several economic officials for a breakfast at his official residence on Jalan Diponegoro, Central Jakarta. Seen present during the event was Chairman of the Financial Services Authority Miliaman Hadad, and Deputy Finance Minister Mardiasmo.

The Vice President's spokesperson Husain Abdulah said that the event was the first ever conducted by Kalla. The officials, according to Husain, discussed issues related to the current economic condition. Previously, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo had issued three economic packages in response to the global economic conditions affecting the domestic economy. These packages include improving national industrial competitiveness by conducting deregulations, de-bureaucratization, legal enforcement, and improving business confidence.

In addition, the government prepared several regulations to cut down unnecessary bureaucratic processes. The first economic package includes simplification of licensing processes, synergizing related processes, and improving public services.

Another economic package cover the acceleration of strategic national projects, acceleration of goods procurement, and improving the role of regional heads in supporting strategic national programs.

The third economic package covers increasing investment in the property sector. President Jokowi said that the government will issue a policy on the construction of houses for low-income residents and will provide opportunities for businesses to invest in the property sector.
