Bekasi to Use Aerial Photos for Spatial Planning

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Bekasi administration in West Java, will use aerial photos for a more planned spatial planning.
“Many things can be done with aerial photos, so that activities implemented in 2013 will have numerous benefits,” Head of Planning Division for Bekasi City Planning Erwin Guwinda said on Monday.
The aerial photos have been put to use is the basic map of land ownership which have already been used by the National Land Agency.
“Aerial photos can also be used for the basic map of Spatial Detail Plan of Bekasi City based on Constitution No.26 year 2007 on Spatial Planning,” said Erwin.
Other than that, aerial photos can also be used as a basic map planning information for roads, bridges and canals as it contain detailed building elevation model datas and overal land contours.
“Property tax information can also be known because aerial photos contain informations on building areas in the city of Bekasi,” said Erwin.
The aerial photos financed by the Local-Budget of Bekasi in 2013 amounting Rp 4.1 billion is implemented through a coordination with the Geospatial Information Agency, that has the authority to arrange mapping in Indonesia.
“It will be using an aircraft and LIDAR technology cameras, which can snap photos of the city of Bekasi with a 1:1000 scale with various datas that can be used for variety of purposes,’’ Erwin said.
