TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo will announce economic policy package this week to respond to the economic condition in recent weeks.
“It will be announced this week. It is to respond to the global economic development that affects Indonesia’s economy,” said Chief of Presidential Staff Teten Masduki on Thursday.
According to Teten, the package will consist of short and medium-term programs, such as programs to ensure price stabilization and prevent high inflation rate. “These are what the Coordinating Economy Minister has been preparing.”
President Jokowi is currently focusing on managing the economy amid uncertain global economic situation. So far, the president has made several moves, such as summoning private entrepreneurs to State Palace to promote investment and capital inflows to Indonesia.
Moreover, in order to increase regional budget absorption. The president has also summoned regional chiefs, high prosecutor’s office chiefs and regional police chiefs to coordinate to improve budget absorption.
