Purbalingga Film Wins Best Documentary at Cipta Damai Festival

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Purbalingga short documentary film entitled “Satu Jalan” (One Road) which is directed by Canggih Setyawan won the best film category at Cipta Damai Festival on Saturday, September 4.
In 14 minutes duration, the film tells the story of a highschool girl named Anastasya who lives with her Catholic family in muslim environment in a village in Purbalingga. Although Anastasya hold a different religion from the majority of the villagers, she and her family always blend in festivity with the muslims during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr celebration.
The festival, which is held by Search for Common Ground community under a big theme of “dare to be creative to end violence”, also features blog and poster design competitions. The competitions are aimed to encourage youth initiative to participate in promoting tolerance in community in creative ways.
