TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II president director Budi Karya Sumadi said that Soekarno-Hatta Airport's Terminal 3 Ultimate will begin operating in Eid al-Fitr 2016.
According to Budi, the first phase of the terminal's development, which said to have he capacity to accommodate 12 million passengers, will be finished in December 2015. "Finishing [phase] will be completed in May 2016 and the terminal will begin operation by Lebaran," he said on Friday, August 28, 2015.
Budi expressed his optimism that the new terminal, which is part of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Grand Design program, will be completed in accordance with the predetermined target. "The [development] progress is currently 80 percent," Budi said.
In addition to the Terminal 3 Ultimate, Angkasa Pura will also construct a train station connecting the airport with other parts of Jakarta as part of the Grand Design.
