TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) announced that in 2016, it eyes investment of Rp594.8 trillion, or 14.5 percent from the 2015 target at Rp519.5 trillion.

They also said that the target is set to support the government’s effort to reach 5.5 percent of economic growth of 5.5 in 2016.

"BKPM have calculated the target in investment to support the 5.5 percent economic growth,” said BKPM Chairman Franky Sibarani in a written statement on Sunday, August 16.

In his Financial Note on Friday, President Joko Widodo said that investment from the private sector is one of the sectors that the government depends on in supporting economic growth in 2016.
