Jokowi Instructs Ministers to Improve Rupiah Exchange Rate

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has instructed newly-inaugurated economic ministers to focus on the Rupiahs exchange rate.
"The first priority now is the Rupiah's exchange rate," new cabinet secretary Pramono Anung said at the State Palace on Thursday, August 13, 2015.
Pramono added that Jokowi also instructed new economic ministers to address budget deficit issues, as well as to improve coordination among economic-related ministries.
Earlier on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, Jokowi officially inaugurated six new ministries in the Working Cabinet under Presidential Decree No. 79/P/2015. The newly-inaugurated ministers are Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Rizal Ramli, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, National Development Planning Minister Sofyan Djalil and Trade Minister Thomas Lembong.
Pramono Anung was appointed as the new cabinet secretary to replace Andi Widjajanto.
