Gov't Invites Sugar Investors to Enter South Sulawesi

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Industrial Ministry has encouraged the South Sulawesi government to prepare an area to build a refined sugar factory in the region. Industrial Minister Saleh Husin said the process of building the factor, which requires at least 10,000 hectares of will be faster if the local government could help with land acquisition.
Minister Saleh explained that the development of the sugar factory that wil be integrated with a sugar cane plantation will be one of the government's priority projects in an effort to increase national sugar production capacity and to lower raw sugar import.
"I'm ready to encourage investors to invest as long as the local government can prepare land of at least 10,000 hectares," said Saleh on Tuesday, July 28, 2015.
