Pertalite Permits Completed: Government

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ministry said that permits for Pertalite and its laboratory testing have been completed, IGN Wiratmaja, the director general of oil and gas at the ESDM Ministry, said. In addition, the laboratory testing at the Oil and Gas Technology Research and Development Center and universities have been completed.
“[Laboratory] results showed that the product has met specification and safety requirements,” Wiratmaja said on Friday, July 24, 2015 in Jakarta.
Pertamina Marketing Director Ahmad Bambang explained that state-owned oil company Pertamina would take a margin profit of 5 percent from Pertalite selling price that was set at Rp 8,400 per liter.
Ahmad has expected that Premium consumers would shift their preference to Pertalite. Ahmad added that he was not concerned with the possibility that Pertamax consumers would turn into Pertalite users.
According to Ahmad, Premium consumers would get an efficiency of at least 10 percent when using Pertalite. Ahmad also promised that Pertamina would still be available Premium following Pertalite launch.
