Pertalite Market Trial to Be Performed in Three Cities

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned oil company Pertamina has announced that it would carry out a market trial for Pertalite distribution in the near future before the RON 90 fuel enters mass production stage.
“The market test will be conducted in several cities,” Pertamina president director Dwi Sutjipto said at Pertamina’s head office on Wednesday, July 22, 2015.
Three areas aimed for the market trial are Jabodetabek, Surabaya and Bandung. During the trial period, Pertamina will distribute Pertalite to 103 gas stations, including those located in rest areas.
Pertamina’s Spokesperson Wianda Pusponegoro said that each gas station will be supplied with at least eight kiloliters of Pertalite, which is far lower than Premium. In addition, Pertamina would limit Pertalite purchase to three liters for a motorcycle and around 10-20 liters for a car. The limitation would be applied per day at selected gas stations.
The Pertalite program would be considered successful when the demands on the RON 90 fuel increase as the consumption of RON 92 fuel, so called Pertamax, increases recently.
“The consumption of Pertamax has increased to 10,000 kiloliters per day from 7,000 kiloliters,” Wianda said.
Wianda revealed that the market trial would be performed on this weekend.
