Beef Price Should be Rp96,000/Kg: Trade Minister

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Trade Ministry has instructed beef producers to maintain the price of the commodity at around Rp89,000 to Rp96,000 per kilogram starting 22 days before Eid and 2 days after Eid.

The instruction is written in the Circular Letter of the Trade Minister Number 506/M-DAG/SD/6/2015 on the instruction of the price of beef during the Fasting Month and Eid this year.

The letter was sent to PT Berdikari, PT RNI, the State Logistics Agency (Bulog), the Indonesian Association of Feedlot and Beef Producer, the Indonesian Association of Animal Protein Entrepreneurs, and the Indonesian Association of Beef Distributor and Industries.

In the meantime, Director General of Domestic Trade of the Trade Ministry Srie Agustina said that supply of beef and sugar is currently stable; thus the instruction a persuasive instruction, not the one to determine the prices.
