TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pertamina predicted that the national fuel consumption during the homecoming season two days before the Eid holiday would increase by 40 percent compared to regular days, Pertamina commercial director Ahmad Bambang said on Friday night, July 10, 2015.

Ahmad added that the fuel consumption during the peak of the homecoming season could increase by 80-100 percent.

Earlier, Pertamina projected that the consumption of subsidized fuel, so called Premium fuel, 15 days before and after the Eid holiday would increase by 18 percent from 76,258 kiloliters to 89,817 kiloliters per day. Ahmad added that the average Premium consumption would be 82,000 kiloliters per day, while the highest consumption could reach 106,300 kiloliters and 100,900 kiloliters per day during a day before and three days after Eid, respectively.

Meanwhile, the consumption of subsidized diesel fuel, commonly called Solar, in the same period would decline from 37,228 kiloliters to 33,250 kiloliters per day. Therefore, Ahmad added, Pertamina would anticipate the condition by providing additional fuel trucks for industries.
