TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government has decided to implement stringent policies on the use of the domestic products. Vice President Jusuf "JK" Kalla said that violators of the rules set for the Domestic Goods Utilization Intensification (P3DN) program would not be charged or prosecuted. Instead, the government will cancel any project tenders involving the companies.

"Surely [the government] will take measures, such as cancelling the project tenders. Or, the supplier might not be invited to the next [tenders]," JK said after witnessing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the Industrial Ministry and the Development Finance Comptroller on Thursday, July 9, 2015.

JK also said that the P3DN regulation has been implemented during former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's era. Therefore, JK added, the cooperation between the respective ministries and the government's audit agency needs to be initiated to reinforce government's program supervisions.

JK expected the P3DN program to run smoothly and could reduce the country's trade balance deficit.
