Widodo Wants Rp1,900tn State Revenues in 2016

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro said the 2016 State Budget Draft pegs state revenue target at Rp1,900 trillion, or 7.8 percent higher than this year's Rp1,761.6 trillion. Meanwhile, state expenditure is targeted to reach Rp2,200 trillion, or 10.8 percent more than 2015's Rp1,984 trillion target.
The budget deficit is estimated at 1.9 to 2.0 percent of the GDP.
Bambang said that 2016's state expenditure is prioritized for infrastructure and energy development as well as to support the food sector. Next year's infrastructure spending allocation will be raised from this year's Rp290 trillion.
To meet the revenue target, the government will focus on boosting tax income, foreign loans and the bond issuance.
If next year's tax revenues fall below target, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Sofyan Djalil the government will use the multilateral lending, including lending program.
