TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State Highway Corporation PT Jasa Marga said that the construction of the third section of the Bawen-Salatiga Toll road - which spans 17.30 kilometers - will commence as soon as a contractor is chosen through a bidding process.
"We will commence the construction of the stretch between Bawen and Salatiga," said Jasa Marga's Executive Director, Adityawarman, in Semarang, Central Java on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, after delivering a progress report on the construction of the Semarang-Solo Tollway to the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo at his office.
Adityawarman explained that the once construction of the Bawen-Salatiga stretch is completed, the land acquisition process for the section between Salatiga-Boyolali will commence.
"Once 75 percent of the land acquisition process for the Salatiga-Boyolali stretch is completed, we hope to complete the construction of the Tollway so it could be connected to Solo by 2017," said Adityawarman.
Jasa Marga hopes that the Central Java Administration, as well as local government at the Regency and District level, would cooperate to ensure that the land acquisition process goes according to plan.
Previously, the Technical and Operational Director for Trans Marga Jateng, Ari Nugroho, explained that the construction of the Bawen-Salatiga Tollway will be divided into three different projects - with Rp 400-500 billion allocated to each section of the project, which Ari assures that the budget has been adjusted to account for prices of construction materials and current worker wages.
Once the construction of Section III is completed, Section IV between Salatiga and Boyolali - which spans for 24.14 kilometres - as well as Section V - which stretches between Boyolali and Kartasura, will commence.
