4G LTE

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel), Indonesia's largest mobile services provider, claimed to have gained 600,000 4G LTE users in five cities across Indonesia.

"Since its release in Jakarta last December, followed by Bali, Bandung, Surabaya and Medan, there has been 600,000 4G LTE Telkomsel users registered. For the rest of the year, we will make 4G LTE available in Makassar and Manado," said Adita Irawati, Telkomsel's Vice President of Corporate Communications in Jakarta on Thursday, June 25, 2015.

In July 6, Communications and Information Minister Rudiantara and Telkomsel board of directors will be holding a ceremonial launch of the fourth generation mobile service in Makassar.

At the same time, PT Indosat and PT XL Axiata will also introduce similar services in Balikpapan and Lombok. The simultaneous launch is believed to reduce the broadband gap between the regions of western and eastern part of Indonesia.
