Ahmad Yani Airport Improves Services in Welcoming Eid

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ahmad Yani airport in Semarang, Central Java, ensures to improve services throughout Ramadan and Eid, said General Manager PT Angkasa Pura I Ahmad Yani Airport Semarang Priyo Jatmiko.
“One step is to divert the function of the international terminal to become domestic terminal throughout Ramadan and Eid,” Priyo said in Semarang on Monday.
The step taken is to anticipate the density for the number of passengers, particularly in the upcoming homecoming flow.
“We want to provide optimum services for homecoming passengers using airplanes. Additional domestic flight terminal will certainly unravel passenger pile ups,” said Priyo.
Terminal diversions will be implemented next week at the latest. The company estimates that many people will start traveling from now.
Meanwhile, the company is considering requests made a number of airline companies for additional flight durations.
Along with the high demands for air transport, numerous airlines plan to increase their flight durations.
“We are still checking ongoing flight schedules. Additional flight durations should adapt to ongoing flight schedules on regular days,” Priyo said.
The company should also be sure whether the airport’s apron area is still adequate when flight durations are added throughout Eid. The current apron capacity at Ahmad Yani Airport could accomodate up to six main aircrafts and two reserve aircrafts.
“The capacity could be maximized up to 10 aircrafts as long as flight schedules do not collide,” he said.
