TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After the inauguration by President Joko Widodo on 13 June this year, the 116 kilometer Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road in West Java has already claimed one life.
Rahmat, a resident from Serang, Banten province, was dead in an accident involving a truck.
The accident happened in Purwadadi, Subang, West Java, on Thursday (18/6). Three others were severely injured in the accident.
In response to it, Transportation Ministry urged the people to exercise caution when crossing the roll road.
In the meantime, Director General of Land Transportation of the Transpiration Ministry Djoko Sasono in Jakarta on Friday said that the accident was caused by many factors, among others the psychological condition of the driver.
However, he admitted that there has not been any coordination with Public Works and Public Housing Ministry in providing adequate traffic signs along the toll road.
For the record, since it was inaugurated, at least five accidents have happened there.
