Pertamina Raises Monthly Fuel Import by 25%

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – State oil company PT Pertamina (Persero) is increasing the import of Premium gasoline by 12.5-25 percent per month. The raise will provide an additional volume of one million to two million barrels per month.
Pertamina marketing director Ahmad Bambang said the raise is decided to secure Premium gasoline supply during the Eid holidays. The import hike will be conducted from May to July 2015.
In addition to raising fuel supply, Pertamina is also increasing the import volume of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as a result of a four-percent increase in consumption during the Eid season. Operational stock is also increased from 13 days to 17 days.
The state oil company is raising fuel and household gas volume to make sure there is enough supply during the fasting month and the Eid celebration. Pertamina will raise its Premium gasoline supply by 18 percent, Soalr diesel by 11 percent, and jet fuel by 10 percent.
"We currently have a supply of over 20 days," said Pertamina president director Dwi Soetjipto.
