TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesia National Police proposed three names to be nominated as the new Chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The names include, Insp. Gen. Yotje Mende, Insp. Gen. Syahrul Mamma, and Insp. Gen. (ret.) Benny Mamoto.

"They personally volunteered [to be nominated]. The National Police chief has approved them," National Police spokesperson Insp. Gen. Anton Charliyan said at his office on Monday, June 15, 2015.

According to Anton, the three candidates have excellent track records and achievements. Yotje is currently serving as the Papua police chief. Benny had previously served as the Deputy of Eradication at the National Narcotics Agency before retiring from the institution.

"[Benny] is still actively involved in discussions on narcotics and in organizations," Anton said.

Meanwhile, Syahrul currently serves as one of the Deputies at the Justice and Human Rights Ministry. The three candidates, according to Anton, are experts in criminal investigation.

"They are the best people at the National Police," Anton added.
