TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Container terminal operator at Tanjung Priok Port has taken measures to prevent imported container losses during container moving process. One of the measures includes electronic-based tracker or e-seal installment on containers.

PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok president director Ari Henryanto said container terminal operators must be ready to implement the policy requiring them to install the tracker.

“We have to be ready. It’s a commitment for everyone to improve security and order of container’s relocation,” Ari said as reported by Bisnis.com on Sunday, June 14, 2015.

Ari explained that operator’s readiness to secure the container moving process would reflect the commitment on the transparency of activities and better services provided at Tanjung Priok Port.

“We hope that it would improve trusts from port service users,” he said.

Ari asserted that container misplacement during the moving process must not recur. He hopes that all terminal operators would follow the procedures on securing container relocation set by the Customs and Excise Office.
