TEMPO.CO, Singapore - In the fifth day of SEA Games 2015 in Singapore, Indonesia has the odds to gain more gold medals in four athletic branches.
Athletic in total teases with 12 available gold medals. Other sports also provide gold medal opportunities such as swimming (6), gymnastic (6), and boxing (11).
Indonesian hope lies on Fadlin, Sapwaturrahman. Lusiana Satriani, and Tri Utami at 200-meter sprint. Indonesia also has Agus Prayogo at 10,000 kilometer marathon.
"The competition will be tight, but I will try my best," said Agus, as cited by Antara on Wednesday June 10.
He added that his start will determine the outcome of the marathon. Agus also claimed that his biggest competitor will be Vietnamese athlete Nguyen Van Lai, who once defeated Agus in 5,000 meters.
Other than running, Indonesia also lays hope on long jump – represented by top athelet Maria Londa, as well as pencak silat, billiard, bowling, and swimming.
Indonesia now sits at fifth in the table with 17 gold, 20 silver, and 38 bronze medals. The pole position is in the hand of host nation Singapore, with 52 gold, 44 silver, and 54 bronze medals.
