TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi said the 13th salary of civil servants would be disbursed soon—as ordered by President Joko Widodo.

“The president instructed that the 13th salary should be disbursed in the fasting month, as most civil servants are fasting,” he said after holding a limited meeting at the presidential office in Jakarta on Wednesday, June 3, 2015. He added the disbursement of the 13th salary sought to help civil servants afford their needs during the fasting month.

Yuddy said all of the technicalities pertaining to the disbursement had been concluded, and that the necessary dossiers had been signed by his ministry. “We just have to wait for the president’s consent, which hopefully will come out anytime soon.”

If realized, the disbursement of the 13th salary in the year’s fasting month would be earlier than that of last year, which was given in July.

Besides the disbursement of the 13th salary, another piece of good news for the country’s civil servants was the completion a government regulation on salary raise. Yuddy said his ministry is now awaiting the Finance Ministry to conclude its liquidation process.

Yuddy said considering the present inflation rate, the minimum raise would be four percent, while Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro said it was possible the figure would reach six percent.
