TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After releasing the Z1, Samsung’s first Tizen smartphone, South Korean tech giant Samsung will reportedly present its next Tizen smartphone.
Unlike its predecessor, the Z1—the low-end device that costs US$100—the new handset by Samsung's operating system will come with more appealing features.
Samsung said the “Samsung Z LTE” would offer 4G connectivity, a 540 x 960 pixels display, 1 GB of RAM and a 2000 mAh battery.
In terms of appearance, the Samsung Z LTE looks similar to the Z2, but when and where both devices will be released remain unknown.
Samsung created Tizen in an effort to reduce dependence on Google's Android.
Tizen is a key part of Samsung’s campaign to dominate the software market and mobile services.
Samsung said Tizen was not only a platform for smartphones, but for any device. Last month, Samsung launched an SUHD TV that packs a Tizen platform.
