TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The top 16 tier match of AFC between Persipura Jayapura against Malaysian giant, Pahang FA, will likely fail to commence. Pahang FA decided to return to Malaysia, after having the visa’s of its three foreign player rejected by the immigration in Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
Pahang FA left Indonesia on Sunday, May 2. CEO Pahang FC, Fahrizal Hasan, claimed that he is disappointed with how Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI) failed to properly serve the guest team. Fahrizal also said that he will report the case to AFC for a follow up.
In response, Indonesian Professional Sports Association (BOPI) claimed to have given a go for the match. "The ministry and BOPI have given a go in a recommendation letter," said Secretary General Heru Nugroho.
BOPI also claimed that there was a mistake in Persipura’s recommendation letter, which had not been signed. BOPI then revised the letter and sent the letter on the same day. "The next procedure will be the task and responsibility of Persipura Management," he said.
