TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A story about a mother with dyslexic child written in a book entitled ‘Wonderful Life’ will be adapted into a movie. Handoko Hendroyono, the movie director, said the movie will present a perspective where the family find solution in art, an aspect that is often underestimated by most parents.
“I myself is very interested to film it with different approach, where art can actually open one’s eyes,” said Handoko after the launching of the book at Goethe Haus, Jakarta on Thursday, May 21, as quoted by Bisnis.com.
The film is further aimed to send a message on how to see children’s potentials, especially in art. Artistic talents in children are still often neglected and unsupported by most parents.
Actress Atiqah Hasiholan will star in the film as Amalia Prabowo, the mother of Aqil. Handoko said that the team is currently casting talents aged 9 to 10 to play Aqil.
