Garuda Indonesia Appoints New Director

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National carrier PT Garuda Indonesia has appointed Nikodemus Panarung Lampe as the new director in its executive board. Nikodemus Panarung Lampe is appointed as the Service Director.
Garuda Indonesia President Director Arif Wibowo said that the decision was made based on the 2015 general meeting of shareholders and has also been supported by the State-owned Enterprises Ministry.
"Actually what Garuda is selling is service,” Arif said in Tangerang on Friday.
Nikodemus’s main duty, Arif said, is to maintain the quality of the airline as a five-star airline so Garuda’s service will not decline but improve instead.
Arif further said that Garuda Indonesia is now preparing itself as the main player in the international flights; thus, he said that Garuda Indonesia must maintain competitiveness in its service.
"The newly appointed Service Director is expected to boost Garuda’s developmnet in the future,” Arif said.
For the record, in 2015, Garuda eyes growth in the number of passengers by around 15 to 20 percent.
With the appointment of Nikodemus, Garuda has a total of seven directors. Besides Arif and Nikodemus, other directors include Handayani, I Gusti Ngurah Askhara Danadiputra, Novianto Herupratomo, Iwan Joeniarto, and Heriyanto Agung Putra.
