TEMPO.CO, Mataram – Himawan Hariyoga, the promotion deputy with the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), said 17 foreign investors were keen on investing in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
“The 17 investors comprise 15 people from South Korea, one from the United Kingdom and another from Japan,” Himawan said in Mataram, NTB, on Tuesday.
He said the investors would attend the Regional Investment Forum on tourism and labor-intensive sectors slated for May 22-23 May in Mataram to convey their interest. Besides foreign investors, hundreds of domestic investors (PMDN) from Java Bali, NTB, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and Papua would also take part in the event.
“We estimate that there will be 300 people in the event, excluding those from abroad who say they will probably attend the event,” he said.
Himawan explained that the event, which will be attended by BKPM head Franky Sibarani, Tourism Minister Arief Yahya and Industry Minister Saleh Husin, would open up opportunities for NTB to promote its tourism, agriculture and trade potential for possible cooperation with investors.
