TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Energy and Mineral Resources Minister, Sudirman Said, said that he will extend the contract of the oil and gas reform team, which will end on May 12, 2015. "I want [the team] extended, so that they can help [provide help] on the new oil and gas draft bill," the Minister said.
Sudirman said that the government has carried several recommendations made by the team.
The team, led by Faisal Basri, is tasked to provide recommendation for the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry on oil and gas management. The team is responsible for four aspects of oil and gas management, including permit, organizational management, oil and gas bill amendment, and revising oil and gas business activities.
On the other hand, Indonesia Resources Studies CEO Marwan Batubara, claimed that has not displayed its best performance because it is yet to issue a comprehensive revision on oil and gas management.
Marwan also criticized the team's negligence for failing to coordinate with the National Energy Board regarding oil and gas management.
